Bayrischer Platz 1, Leipzig
One of Leipzig’s landmarks is the Bayerischer Bahnhof. It was built in 1842 and is the oldest preserved head rail station in the world. It was the region’s busiest hub for tradesmen and travellers.Today, the Bayerischer Bahnhof is famous for its hospitality and culinary delights – and it is known as the home of the Gose, a beer specialty from Leipzig. The Bayerischer Bahnhof is an exclusive location for every event. Our culinary program is as extraordinary as our location: traditional German cuisine, diversity, and seasonal trends. Quench your thirst with home-brewed specialities from our in-house brewery at the Bayerischer Bahnhof.
The best SpareRips in town, if not the country ... The food is excellent and freshly prepared, the beer brewed and the service attentive. In addition, the LongHorn Gin is made here, be sure to try it! Highly recommended!
I'm always here with my parents. Great service, great ambience and a good price / performance ratio. Nothing for vegans: inside, but at least a few vegetarian dishes on offer. The beer is not to be despised;)
Delicious! Operation as it should be! Good home-style food, nice ambience (outside and inside), good portions. To recommend!
If someone has knuckle of leg as their favorite dish, this is the place for them! I would say it is the best knuckle in town and we have never been disappointed with the rest of the dishes. There are many beautiful Leipzig drink specialties on top. Definitely worth a visit!
Food was better, service friendly as always. I think it would be good if it was already pointed out on the homepage that contact tracking is being carried out although this is not mandatory in Saxony. If we had known, we would not have come because we do not accept this approach.
Great beer and good food. Location is very comfortable to visit. Nice waiters
The boiled potatoes contained pieces of pork meat which was not expected. The bitter lemon tasted pathetic.
This old train station has been converted into a great Bavarian restaurant. If you're looking for knuckles, dumplings and hearty food, you've come to the right place. Unfortunately there is no Bavarian beer here, but there are 4 homemade beers, of which I particularly liked the Heizer (black beer). In the summer months there is also a large beer garden with gadgets for the little ones to linger. For dinner on the weekend, I strongly recommend a reservation, especially in the evening, which can also be easily made online. By the way, the prices are reasonable and not overpriced. A MUST for every lover of Bavarian delights.
Very nice ambience. The food is really delicious and the staff are mostly very nice, even if not everyone has the basics of the service. But that didn't hurt the very nice evening. Really recommend.
We meet up with college friends here again and again. In the summer in the fantastic beer garden, in the cooler seasons - just like yesterday. The staff is always very friendly, food and drinks taste great and the price is pleasant. We hope it stays that way. Until the next meeting - there is no reason to go anywhere else! ??️
Unfortunately, I can no longer give it 2 stars ... One for the friendly service and one because you can easily reserve a table online. I went to eat there with my family yesterday and apart from the fact that our service was very friendly, I can't say much positive. It was generally way too loud so that you could hardly understand your own word. The menu reminded me more of system catering than a restaurant. Far too little choice of food for me. Then there wasn't even Federweiser, even though it was the season. You can currently get it in almost every small café or snack bar. It took a long time for the food to arrive. The dishes were also anything but lovingly presented. We have eaten there before, I thought it was much better!
Pretty good
Great ambience and a large beer garden under beautiful old trees. Of course you sit very nicely here, that's why I give the two stars. But if you want to eat "good", you should look for another place. The offer is more like a snack than a restaurant. I had slices of smoked salmon with three mini potato pancakes and a boring salad in an extra bowl. In addition, thickened ready-made dip from the bulk pack. The dish consisted only of ready-made, carelessly served products. I don't eat something like that at home and I don't want to be served it in a restaurant either! In addition, the next day I unfortunately had to notice that something wasn't fresh anymore. In Saxony, it is unfortunately only recommended that the service staff wear a mask, but everyone in the smaller bars still wears a mask. This is also a gesture of politeness towards the guests. In the Bavarian train station they don't think so. That's one of the reasons why I didn't really feel at home there. We sat inside and our waitress, like many others, had no mask on. I didn't see any disinfectant dispensers either.
Nice beer garden with good options of food and drinks. Including Leipziger Gose
We were very satisfied with the food and drink. I had roulade with dumplings and red cabbage myself. Was really really tasty. My companion had the Leberkäse (small Leberkäse, no slice) with fries and the other cheese platter were also very satisfied. Sitting comfortably outside inside it is also very nice, everything is clean and tidy. The service is friendly and on the ball. When we're in the area again, we'll come back.
We were in the beer garden. I can really recommend it !! Very nicely laid out. You can sit in the sun or in the shade. Very friendly staff and good food. Everything was fine !!
The food tastes delicious and the ambience is great. I wanted to pay for my pretzel by card. Then the saying came: “You want to pay € 1.50 by card. This is today's youth " I don't need to be told something like that. The whole concept of the tables is confusing at first, but once you get it it's a great concept.
Food was not great. My sausages were not fried properly. Staff was not attentive. Beer was decent and the location is great.
TOTAL FAILURE. The waiters were overwhelmed and spoke bad German, so they were also bad. Out of 10 drinks one was missing. My salad as a starter was served sometime this week and had big brown spots. The fried potatoes in my dish were fried sometime in the morning and then only warmed up under the heat lamp or microwave. The sauce for the dish was completely missing was ordered by me and actually came 20 minutes after the dish. When I asked what had taken so long, the waiter replied that the sauce order was like ordering a new dish. My child's schnitzel wasn't freshly fried at all, and the fries had takeaway character. My wife's grilled knuckle was only warmed up once again; the rind could no longer be cut even with the steak knife provided. I wonder what this shop will do when it is allowed to receive twice the number of guests after Carona. All in all, a total letdown.
First of all: you should make a reservation in advance, otherwise you will be turned away very roughly. A bit more friendly could be that there are no tables available and the question of whether you might want to reserve for another day would not hurt anyone. At the entrance it was said "No and bye" during the first spontaneous visit. We then made another reservation online for another day. The food is very tasty and the knuckle actually comes close to the knuckle from the Hofbräuhaus in Munich! The beers are also very tasty and the value for money is great. The waiters are very hectic and sometimes a bit rude. It's a shame, because overall it's a great place. Parking is available. Toilets are very clean. A nice location.
We went to have dinner here with friends. The service was very, very quick and on the ball. The glasses were never empty. We enjoyed the food very much in this cozy atmosphere. The price / performance ratio is right. We'd love to come back.
Very pleasant ambience. Nice waiters and very good food. The in-house beer is highly recommended.
This is where the real Leipzig gose is brewed. Fruity flavor and aroma are the best option for a hot summer day. The pleasant taste is refreshing and relaxing. Besides gose, you can try other varieties, they are also excellent, but the headliner is top. Schnitzel is the size of two men's palms. Simple, satisfying, delicious!
If you want to sit comfortably in the beer garden and have something tasty to eat and drink, then you've come to the right place. Super nice service and great food and delicious beer.
Great place! I recommend!
Nice place to meet friends. Food are very delicious. Fast and friendly service
Very friendly and fast service, in the garden you pick up your drinks at the station but get the food freshly prepared and delivered to to your table - the cheese plate was super, loved the local Gose beer!
Great food and atmosphere. They have a variety of beers - from dark to fruity. Depends on what you like.
Do u still need a comment? ☺️
Traditional food.great decor.Beer very good. Friendly service
Exceptionally tasty food, beer and wine. Pork knuckle recommended - crispy outside, tender inside.
Really nice restaurant, excellent food, nice beer selection with own brewery and tasting menu, quick and kind service. Extensive food menu with something for everyone. Portions are huge. The ambient feels very traditional, they have 2 separate sides, one with kind of a bar feeling, and another more restaurant feeling with large tables, excellent for dinner with friends in groups. Can recommend the meat options, was really delicious. Food is very priceworthy. Do make reservations though, since it's very popular, and even though it's huge, it gets packed.
At first sight, it's a fine dining restaurant, but not! It is a good old german restaurant at a very interesting place. There is local and own made craft beers availabe. The "Gosebier" (speciality from Leipzig) is a must to try.
A very nice beer garden. The beers from the own brewery taste delicious. The food is very good and is served quickly. The prices for the good quality are quite favorable. We can recommend the location without restrictions.
Absolutely great. Really good schnitzel, better than the others!! A nice seating selection inside and out. The beer garden can be a bit loud when the kids are running all over. Service was good for Germany, like the actually have it. Can't wait to come back.
Great place with interesting history. Food was Bavarian and very good. Purchased Gose in traditional longneck as a gift . Waitstaff was pleasant and helpful. Good vibe to this the entire pub and I recommend it if you are in Leipzig
Location, atmosphère and schnitzel are great
my first German restaurant in Leipzig, was a great experience ? the waiters were super friendly and helpful ? the restaurant has a beer garden, outside eating or drinking area ? personally I loved the decorations of the restaurant a lot! the main point, the beer were really tasty and smooth ? also the rib was super delicious, very well cooked ???? highly recommended for big group or even just to have beer or dinner!
Great experience! Excellent facilities, 'hidden' behind the Gate Monument - quite large and comfortable, both indoors and outdoors. The terrace is really charming. The staff is quite nice and the prices quite alright (considering the overall experience). The food options are diverse and the beverage options include local beer. I recommend the 'Goulash' and the local Weissbier.
Great authentic institution serving traditional German delicacies alongside the unique, locally-brewed Gose beer!
The best Gose ever, along with a fantastic service and great food!
Fantastic locally brewed beers and one of the best Göse beers you will find in Germany. Go for the Brett, The Schwartzbeir and Longdrinks are also nice. Next to reserve a table. The bathrooms have like these touch panels to flush the toilets and urinals. It's kind of weird. and feels somehow unsanitary but I guess logically it's no worse than a button.
It is a little bit far from downtown(15~20min walk) but waling distance. Haf some nice dishes and samplers especially. It is great and nice restaurant.
Gose and schwarzbier were delicious. Staff checked on us regularly and were helpful.
Great food at nice place
Waiters very rude. Can but deal with confused customers. Apparently it's our fault.
German style restaurant and brewery. Fine selection of German style beers, plus Leipziger Gose. Good beer, food, and atmosphere. Modern and cozy inside.
Try the characteristic Gose beer. Its mild acid flavour will convince you. Nice staff, good food, good prices, beautiful setting.
Visited it on August 2016 with my friends. This beer hall used to be a train station whose history starts from 1842. It takes 15 minutes from the center of the city by foot.Home-made beer, called Gose beer, contains lactic acid and coriander,so that its taste is sour. Good combination with sausage. Price is also very affordable. When you visit Leipzig, this restaurant is one of the must-visit places.
Really good beer in a very cool setting. If you'd like to see something different (a converted train station), this is your place to go in Leipzig. The staff are friendly and the prices are actually all right, all things considered.
